One of the reasons I wanted to have another child was to give Makenna a sibling.  When I first came home from the hospital my post-pregnancy hormones got to me and I cried thinking that I turned her life upside down, but really we gave her the best gift there is- a life-long friend!  We were prepared for her to have some jealousy but she hasn’t been jealous at all.  She is so helpful and loves playing the role of “big sister”…she will try to give him his binky, cover him with his blanket, hand us diapers and I have even caught her trying to give him a bottle when I left it on the table!  Sometimes she will say “I love Reese” or “I love my brother” and “Il est très mignon maman” (he is very cute mommy).  It melts my heart seeing her interact with him and I am so happy they are close in age so they can grow up playing and doing things together.
